CaskGrail

Privacy

CaskGrail is run by Von Oster Ventures LLC. Reading the register needs no account and sets no account cookie. This page lists everything that is kept when you do more than read.

The Monday email

Kept: your address, the page you signed up from, your browser’s user-agent string, when you signed up and confirmed, when each issue was sent, and the private tokens in your confirm and unsubscribe links. It is used only to send the Rickhouse Report. Mail is delivered by Resend; the list is stored in Supabase (United States). An address never confirmed is deleted after 30 days. Unsubscribing stops all mail at once and keeps the row marked as unsubscribed, so a re-import can never mail you again; write to privacy@ to have it deleted outright.

Accounts

Signing in keeps your email address and your confirmation that you are 21 or older. What you add is yours alone and visible to no one else: grails, ratings and their private notes, journal entries, and what you watch. Scanning a bottle keeps the photo in our image storage under your account and logs what was read from it. Deleting your account from your profile removes the account, everything listed in this paragraph except scan photos, and your Monday-email row. Scan photos are removed on request to privacy@.

Your cabinet

The cabinet on bottle pages lives only in your browser (local storage). Nothing about it is sent to CaskGrail.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and a few actions: signing up for the email, saving a grail, adding to your cabinet, watching a house. Google sets its own cookies for this. No personal data is sent with those events.

What never happens

Your address is never sold, rented or shared with brands, distilleries or retailers, and no ads are shown or targeted.
